Bridge Street Working Group Meeting Minutes

Tuesday 9 March 2021 at 7.00pm

 

Under the Local Authorities (Coronavirus) (Flexibility of Local Authority Meeting) (England) Regulations 2020, this meeting was held by video conference.

 

Working Group Members Present:

Dilys Britt, Jenny Clarke, Peter Hewes, Cllr Hillman, Shiela Hughes, Daniel Johnson, Jane Kay, and Amelia Stanham. 

 

Absent:

In Attendance:

Lydia Smithson, Assistant Parish Clerk. 

There were no members of the public in attendance.

Meeting

21/007 To receive apologies and accept valid reasons for absence, these having been submitted to the Clerk prior to the meeting.

None.

 

21/008 To receive Declarations of Interest in accordance with the Localism Act 2011

None.

 

21/009 To approve the meeting notes of 17th November 2020 and 16th February 2021 as minutes of the meetings

The meeting notes of 17 November 2020 were proposed by Shiela Hughes and resolved as the minutes of the meeting. 

The meeting notes of 16 February 2021 were proposed by Peter Hewes and resolved as the minutes of the meeting. Cllr Hillman to sign and return the minutes to the office.

 

21/010 Feedback from Peter Hewes, Jane Kay and Dilys Britt on fundraising ideas including village trail (e.g. pirate/Easter) and agree fundraising ideas

An update was provided, and Jane Kay shared the draft village trail. The group thanked members for hard work, and it was agreed to continue moving forward the village trail and fundraising ideas. 

 

21/011 To confirm the illustration on tree sponsorship certificates

Cllr Hillman proposed, and it was resolved that Cllr Hillman would liaise with the illustrator to progress this.

 

21/012 To discuss and agree options on the tree plaques

Cllr Hillman proposed the group contact James Sutton for plaque idea(s) – one idea was a tree shaped plaque, based on work he’s recently done. It was agreed the Assistant Clerk would contact James.

 

21/013 Agree next volunteer day

The 13 April was agreed. 

 

21/014 Update on:

a. Footbridge remedial works 

WLDC have been in touch and are planning to refurbish the bridge over the winter of 2021/22, which is positive for the regeneration of the area. They have been asked for a quote for use on a press release.  

b. Tree planting on Bridge Street 

Trees are being planted in March and the highways license for trees on north side has been received.  

c. Cycle path connection between Lincoln and Saxilby

A meeting has been held with Kier and LCC. The Kier contact has put a paper to their management team, requesting permission for access for the scheme is given. The outcome is pending. 

d. Noticeboard funding update

The current cost of the notice board and installation is £2,450. £1,000 has been secured from the district councillor fund (Cllr Cotton), local business Chiselwood are donating £300 and a resident has also offered to make a donation. Other funding options could be CiL/Tesco Community Grant. A highways license will be required. 

(The lead time is currently around eight weeks for delivery when noticeboards are ordered. One logo can be used on the header, so the logo could be ‘Saxilby Waterfront’ and the text ‘Saxilby with Ingleby Parish Council’ or the logo ‘Saxilby with Ingleby Parish Council’ and text ‘Saxilby Waterfront’).

 

21/015 Agree next meeting date 

6 April 2021, at 7pm.
