Minutes of the MUGA (Multi-Use Games Area) Working Group Meeting held on Tuesday 8th December 2020 at 7.00pm

Under the Local Authorities (Coronavirus) (Flexibility of Local Authority Meeting) (England) Regulations 2020, this meeting was held by video conference.

 

Present: Craig Bridge, Justin Hackney, Adam Thurston, Vicki Wentworth, Cllr (County and District) Jackie Brockway, and Cllr J Willox  

Absent: Rob Cavill, Chris Cook, Ben James, Alina Hackney, Dave Harrison and Cllrs Broxholme and Stafford

In Attendance: Lydia Smithson Assistant Parish Clerk

Meeting

20/023 To receive apologies and accept valid reasons for absence, these having been submitted to the Clerk prior to the meeting
Apologies for absence had been received from Alina Hackney, Dave Harrison, Ben James and Cllr Cavill. These were accepted.

20/024 To receive Declarations of Interest in accordance with the Localism Act 2011
None received.

20/025 To approve the notes of the meeting of Tuesday 3rd November as minutes 
It was proposed by Cllr Brockway and resolved to approve the notes of the previous meeting.

20/026 To note the: 
a. Updated Project Plan
Noted.   

b. Public Consultation 
Over 170 responses received to date. 

It was agreed to survey drop local affected houses, request school send out link on Parentmail, and Comms Lead Cllr J Willox to post some short videos of Working Group members promoting the MUGA consultation.

c. WLDC funding opportunities 
The project looks suitable for the match funding scheme and would need to apply for March – Add to January agenda.

d. Football Foundation Funding opportunities and the next steps in relation to this 
Adam Thurston provided an update, noting we need to be slightly further along the process, before approaching the Foundation and this can be initiated in the New Year.

20/027 To request the Council formally contact: 

a. The Memorial Field Trustees regarding the project 

b. Fields in Trust regarding the project

Craig Bridge proposed and it was resolved to request the Council contact the Memorial Field Trustees and Fields in Trust regarding the project 


20/028 To consider and agree next steps in relation to preliminary site investigations 
It was resolved Adam Thurston would investigate contractors who could provide this service and feed back to the Group

12th January 2021 - 7pm
