Personnel Committee Meeting Minutes

Wednesday 6th January 2021 at 6.45pm

 

Under the Local Authorities (Coronavirus) (Flexibility of Local Authority Meeting) (England) Regulations 2020, this meeting was held by video conference.

 

Members Present:

Cllrs Bell (Committee Chairman), Hewes, Ives and Hughes 

 

Non-Committee Members Present:

None

 

Absent:

Cllr Spurr

 

In Attendance:

Elaine Atkin, Parish Clerk 

There were no members of the public in attendance.

 

Public Questions

There were none.

 

Personnel Committee Meeting 

001/21 To receive apologies and accept valid reasons for absence, these having been submitted to the Clerk prior to the meeting

No apologies had been received.

 

002/21 To receive declarations of interest in accordance with the Localism Act 2011

There were none.

 

003/21 To approve the notes of the Finance Committee meeting held on 4th November 2020 and the Chairman to sign them as the agreed meetings

Cllr Hughes proposed the draft minutes, and these were resolved. The Clerk to confirm to Cllr Bell the outstanding minutes requiring signature.

 

004/21 Closed Session – Council to resolve to go into closed session in accordance with the Public Bodies (Admissions to Meetings) act 1960 for the following items, on the grounds that publicity would be prejudicial to the public interest by reason of the confidential nature of the business to be transacted.

It was proposed by Cllr Hughes and resolved to go into closed session. 

 

005/21 To receive an update on a staffing matter

It was proposed by Cllr Bell and resolved that Cllrs Hughes and Ives would pick this up once the response was received.  

 

006/21 To agree a standardised approach to compassionate leave 

A report was discussed. Cllr Hewes proposed, and it was resolved to review templates used by other Councils and bring back a further proposal to a future meeting.

 

007/21 To note the recommendation for the monthly staff Furlough review

Following the monthly review Cllr Bell proposed and it was resolved to make a recommendation to Full Council.

 

008/21 To note the Chancellor announcement of Furlough extension to end of April and discuss implications.

The announcement was noted, and it was resolved to continue to review the situation monthly, as previously agreed.

 

The meeting closed at 7:18pm.
