Personnel Committee Meeting Minutes 

Wednesday 12th May 2021 at 7.00pm 

This meeting was held remotely. 

 

Members Present: 

Cllrs Brown, Harper (arrived 7:01pm), Ives, Loryman and Spurr  

 

Non-Committee Members Present: 

None 

 

Absent:  

None 

 

In Attendance: 

Elaine Atkin, Parish Clerk  

There were no members of the public in attendance. 

 

Cllr Ives took the Chair. 

 

Public Questions 

There were none. 

 

Personnel Committee Meeting  

 

014/21 To elect a Chairman for the Personnel Committee 

Cllr Brown proposed Cllr Harper, but Cllr Harper declined until he had more council experience. 

Cllr Harper proposed Cllr Spurr, and this was resolved, there being no other nominees.  

Cllr Spurr took over the Chair. 

 

015/21 To elect a Vice Chairman for the Personnel Committee 

There were no nominations. 

 

016/21 To receive apologies and accept valid reasons for absence, these having been submitted to the Clerk prior to the meeting 

None. 

 

017/21 To receive declarations of interest in accordance with the Localism Act 2011 

Cllr Brown declared an interest in agenda item 7 (minute 013/21). 

 

018/21 To approve the notes of the Personnel Committee meeting held on 20th January 2021 and the Chairman to sign them as the agreed meetings 

This was proposed by Cllr Ives and resolved. Cllr Ives agreed to sign the minutes. 

 

019/21 Closed Session – Council to resolve to go into closed session in accordance with the Public Bodies (Admissions to Meetings) act 1960 for the following items, on the grounds that publicity would be prejudicial to the public interest by reason of the confidential nature of the business to be transacted. 

It was proposed by Cllr Spurr and resolved to go into closed session.  

 

020/21 To note a staffing matter update and make recommendations to be considered under delegated powers 

Cllr Harper proposed, and it was resolved not to go with the recommendations of the supporting report. In addition the caretaker role should be approved, shared with the bar staff initially and then externally as required, and recruitment progressed. 

 

The meeting closed at 8:10pm.
