Access and Event Information
We are committed to making Saxilby Family Fun Day welcoming, accessible and enjoyable for everyone.
Event Information
Date: Saturday 22 August 2026
Opening times: 12:00pm to 5:00pm
Location: Saxilby Public Recreation Ground, William Street, Saxilby, LN1 2LP
Admission: Free
A site map and event programme will be available before the event via QR code.
Getting Here
Visitors can travel to the event by:

Train (Saxilby Railway Station is within walking distance)

Car
Where possible, we encourage visitors to walk, cycle or use public transport.
Parking
Limited parking is available at the Recreation Ground, including designated accessible parking for Blue Badge holders.
Additional parking is available at the parish council’s Mill Lane site, approximately a 5-minute walk from the event. Visitors using this car park should use the permanent zebra crossing when crossing Mill Lane.
Please park considerately and help us to keep access routes clear for emergency vehicles.
Accessibility
The event takes place on grass. Wheelchair users can access the site, although some areas may become uneven or difficult to navigate in wet weather.
Accessible parking, accessible toilets, and seating areas will be available.
Assistance dogs are welcome.
If you have any specific accessibility requirements or questions before the event, please contact us and we will be happy to help.
On the Day
Event Control and the Information Point will be available throughout the event.
Facilities include:

Keeping Everyone Safe
Parents and carers remain responsible for supervising children at all times.
Please:

Follow instructions from event staff, stewards and security

Keep emergency access routes clear

Report any hazards or concerns to a steward or Event Control

Use the bins provided to help keep the site clean

Keep personal belongings and valuables with you
If a child or vulnerable person becomes separated from their group, please speak to a steward or visit Event Control immediately.
Dogs
Dogs are welcome but must remain on leads at all times.
Please clean up after your dog and consider whether your dog will be comfortable in a busy outdoor environment with live music, crowds and other activities.
Photography
Official photography will take place during the event, and images may be used by Saxilby with Ingleby Parish Council for event promotion and community communications.
If you do not wish to be photographed, please speak to Event Control.
Commercial filming or photography requires prior permission.
Drones
Recreational drone flying is not permitted at the event.
Anyone wishing to operate a drone must obtain prior permission from the Event Organiser and comply with all relevant Civil Aviation Authority requirements.
In an Emergency
Please remain calm, listen to announcements and follow the instructions of event staff and stewards.
Dog Show
Bring your four-legged friends along for the Saxilby Family Fun Day Dog Show, hosted by Kendricks K9 Services.
The Dog Show will take place in the Show Ring from 12:30pm to 1:30pm.
Classes include:

Best Trick

Best in Show
First and second place will be awarded in each category.
Rosettes are kindly provided by local business Birdbrook Rosettes, with judging and prizes provided by Kendricks K9 Services.
Dogs can be registered on the day from 12:00pm at the Show Ring.
Please remember that dogs must remain under control at all times. Owners are responsible for the welfare and behaviour of their dogs throughout the event.
