Have your say on plans for Saxilby Waterfront — share your views on whether to keep the current shower facilities or create a new heritage room celebrating local history.
Saxilby with Ingleby Parish Council is inviting feedback on a proposal to make changes to part of the existing Saxilby Waterfront/Bridge Street public facilities.
The Council is considering whether to convert the current shower area into a small heritage room celebrating local history, or to retain the existing shower facilities in their current form.
The idea of creating a heritage space was identified in both the 2017 Neighbourhood Development Plan and the 2025 review, following consultation with residents. If taken forward, the room would provide a welcoming space to display local exhibits and artefacts, similar to those in nearby Nettleham and Skellingthorpe.
A usage survey earlier this year showed that the shower facilities are used relatively infrequently, and alternative options are available at Lincoln, Torksey, and on many visiting boats. However, the Council is keen to ensure that any changes meet the needs of all users and visitors to the waterfront.
