The parish council is delighted to announce that following the approval of a grant from the FCC Communities Foundation, the MUGA project has now reached its funding target.
The MUGA Working Group was set-up in 2020 to deliver the community project listed in the Saxilby with Ingleby Neighbourhood Plan (2017).
A dedicated group of volunteers, councillors, and recreation ground trustees, have worked with council officers, to guide the project through all stages from community consultation, design development, planning permission, and applying for funding.
Funding for the £150,000 capital project has come solely from a s106 (planning) agreement with Lovell Homes, the FCC Communities Foundation, West Lindsey District Council, Saxilby Sports Hub, and Lincolnshire Co-operative Community Champions.
This means that no money for the capital project has come from your parish precept.
The council thanks each of these organisations for their valued contributions towards the project. This has allowed us to reach the fundraising target which will have a lasting impact on Saxilby and districts’ residents and visitors.
The project has been a long-held ambition for the council and residents and meets the council’s objectives of ‘Maintaining and improving community facilities and amenities’, ‘Retaining and encouraging employment and tourism opportunities’, ‘Improving the well-being of residents’, and ‘fostering public participation and engagement’.
The council would also like to thank architects LK2 and AF Architecture for their support to progress the project during progressive phases and Saxilby Public Recreation Ground Trustees, for their agreement and facilitation with the project, which vitally has included granting a lease for the site.
