Footbridge
The footbridge will be removed, refurbished and returned in 2023, following years of lobbying

The council is delighted West Lindsey District Council (WLDC) has approved a total of £250,000 for the urgent refurbishment of the footbridge over the Fossdyke Canal at Saxilby Waterfront in 2023.

The footbridge has been requiring a full refurbishment for a few years now and the council have been lobbying WLDC to refurbish this important local landmark in our Conservation Area since 2017.

This will be a major task, requiring the bridge to be removed, refurbished, and then reinstated.

The refurbished bridge will also be a significant step towards the completion of the Saxilby Waterfront Regeneration Project and will provide a huge visual improvement to the area.

The exact date of the works will be shared once the date has been confirmed.

The council is incredibly pleased to see its lobbying efforts which began in 2017, come to fruition for the bridge to be restored.

The council thanks WLDC for the investment they are making in their asset which will benefit residents and support the local economy for many years to come.
