Personnel Committee Meeting Minutes

There were no members of the public in attendance.

Meeting 

In the absence of the chair and vice-chair Cllr Barratt proposed Cllr Roberts chair the meeting. This was resolved.

PS24/001 1. Receive apologies and accept valid reasons for absence
Cllr Crump, Hughes, and Waller.
Valid reasons for absence were accepted from Cllr Crump, Spurr, and Waller.
 
PS24/002 2. Receive declarations of interest in accordance with the Localism Act 2011 
None.
 
PS24/003 3. Note the action log
Deferred.
 
PS24/004 4. Annual review of the staff handbook and feedback comments to clerk ToR  4.3
Three errors were raised, these will be fed back to the HR provider to update the staff handbook. 
 
It was agreed to add the forthcoming handbook to the next agenda to review (2024 issue) in-line with ToR 4.3.
 
PS24/005 5. Review draft bereavement policy. Recommend to full council for approval ToR 4.3 and 4.10
Deferred.
 
PS24/006 6. Approve notes of the 29 March 2023 committee meeting (seconder not recorded) notes as minutes
Deferred.
 
PS24/007 7. Approve notes of the 24 November 2023 2024 [correction] committee meeting notes as minutes 
Having been proposed (Cllr Roberts) and seconded (Cllr Barratt), it was RESOLVED that: 
The notes of the 24 November 2023 personnel committee meeting be approved as minutes.
PS24/008 8. Closed Session: Council to resolve to go into closed session in accordance with the Public Bodies (Admissions to Meetings) Act 1960 for the following item(s) on the grounds that publicity would be prejudicial to the public interest by reason of the confidential nature of the business to be transacted.
Having been proposed (Cllr Roberts) and seconded (Cllr Hughes), it was RESOLVED: 
To go into closed session.
 
PS24/009 9. Recommend to full council a permanent staff contract 
The item was not proposed – further information was requested.
