Councillor vacancies
West Lindsey District Council has confirmed that an election was not requested to fill the vacancy arising from the resignation of Sadie Ashton-Derry. The parish council will now fill the position through co-option rather than a public election.
Eligible residents are invited to apply, and the parish council will select a new councillor at the January Full Council meeting. Applications must be submitted by Thursday 8 January to be considered.

Notice of Vacancy In Office of Councillor of the Parish of Saxilby with Ingleby
Notice Is Hereby Given pursuant to section 87(2) of the Local Government Act 1972, that due to the resignation of Shiela June Hughes, a vacancy has arisen in the Office of Councillor for the said Parish.
If by 2 December 2025 (*14 days after the date of this notice) a request for an election to fill said vacancy is made in writing to the Returning Officer at the address below by TEN electors for the said Parish, an election will be held to fill the said vacancy, otherwise the vacancy will be filled by co-option. If an election is called, it will take place not later than 10 February 2026.
Co-option

To stand for co-option to a local council you must be:
- A UK or Commonwealth citizen; or be a citizen of the Republic of Ireland; or be a citizen of another Member State of the European Union
- At least 18 years old
- An elector of the local council; or in the past 12 months occupied land or other premises in the area the local council serves (as owner or tenant); or work in the area local council serves (as your principal or only place of work); or live within three miles of the local council boundary.
When there is a vacancy for a councillor, it is advertised on this page and on the parish council's noticeboard at Saxilby Co-op. You can apply by submitting an application, using the form below. The completed form should be emailed to clerk@saxilbyparishcouncil.gov.uk, or delivered to the parish council office (upstairs in St Andrews Community Centre). Applications will then be considered at full council.
