What is the NDP?
The Saxilby with Ingleby Neighbourhood Plan is a local planning document that guides development in the parish. It sets out policies on housing, design, local facilities, and community infrastructure. Once adopted, it forms part of the statutory development plan, meaning planning decisions should follow it unless other material considerations apply.
The original NDP was formally adopted by West Lindsey District Council on 08 May 2017. Since then, a review has been underway to ensure that the Plan remains up-to-date and continues to reflect the needs of the community.
The Review Process
The parish council led the review of the NDP, supported by residents, councillors, and planning professionals. The review included:
- Public consultation on the draft Plan
- Examination by an independent examiner to ensure the Plan meets the required 'basic conditions'
- Recommended modifications to improve clarity and consistency
The examiner concluded that the Plan can proceed to referendum, subject to these modifications.

The referendum for the Saxilby with Ingleby Neighbourhood Plan Review will be held on Wednesday 06 May 2026.

Next steps
Residents will be able to vote on whether the reviewed Plan should be adopted. The final referendum version of the NDP incorporates the examiner's recommended modifications.
