About the Neighbourhood Plan

What is the NDP?

The Saxilby with Ingleby Neighbourhood Plan Review is a local planning document that guides development in the parish. It sets out policies on housing, design, local facilities, and community infrastructure. It forms part of the statutory development plan, meaning planning decisions should follow it unless other material considerations apply.

The original NDP was formally adopted by West Lindsey District Council on 08 May 2017. This has since been reviewed to ensure the plan remains up-to-date and continues to reflect the needs of the community.

The Review Process

The parish council led the review of the NDP, supported by residents, councillors, and planning professionals. The review included:

  • Public consultation on the draft plan
  • Examination by an independent examiner to ensure the plan meets the required 'basic conditions'
  • Recommended modifications to improve clarity and consistency
  • Updating plan with modifications
  • Referendum

Neighbourhood Plan Review Officially Adopted

The Saxilby with Ingleby Neighbourhood Plan Review (2026) was formally adopted ("made") by West Lindsey District Council following approval at its Full Council meeting on Monday 29 June 2026.

This marks the completion of the Neighbourhood Plan Review process. The updated plan now replaces the original Neighbourhood Plan (2017) and forms part of the Development Plan for the parish. It will be used alongside local and national planning policies to help determine planning applications within Saxilby with Ingleby.

This is a significant milestone for our parish and reflects the considerable time, effort and commitment of the Neighbourhood Plan Steering Group, Saxilby with Ingleby Parish Council, local stakeholders, and residents who contributed throughout the review process. The parish council would like to thank everyone who took part in consultations and those who voted in the referendum, helping to shape the future of our community.
